I am From Poem

I am from flat basketballs and solid volleyballs
From beachy scented candles and diet coke bottles
I am from the dark hard wood floors and tall ceilings
Comfy sectionals and a hyper lab puppy
I am from the pretty pink flowers that line the staircase in my front yard
The tall oak trees whose long limbs I remember like I saw them yesterday.

I’m from the Sunday Night Football that lights up my kitchen
And from the secret Santa drawings that happen every year on Thanksgiving night
From hilarious cousins that make me laugh so hard I have to try hard to catch my breath
And awesome aunts and uncles
I’m from pink bubble gum and family dinners on weekdays
And from wet hair dripping on the cement after a long swim.

I’m from “calm down” and “be nicer to your brother”
And “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”~Eleanor Roosevelt
I’m from Dance Moms and American Idol
I’m from Des Moines and Austria.

Microwaveable meals and Ice Cream
From going through my Moms High School yearbooks
Looking her glamorous prom pictures imagining what mine will look like
All of this information was fished out the endless brown boxes that line the storage room.

I am from these moments..
That shape me into who I am today.

Dedication/commitment

As you may of read in my 20 Random Facts About Me post on number 18 I said, “I don’t want to get married because I hate the thought of commitment”. It’s very hard for me to always be dedicated and give it my all to things(certain subjects in school) I don’t care to much about. The main thing I try my hardest at is swimming. Although I do have to admit this is what goes through my head when I wake up at 5:30 am in the beginning of summer to attend a swim meet; “I hate swimming and I should’ve picked any other sport to compete in and I never want to swim again!”. I obviously didn’t mean that but I’ve pushed through a lot of really tough practices and sprained muscles(a lot to many to quit the sport because of a few stupid mind games I tend to play). My whole life I’ve played so many sports and bounced back and fourth from sport to sport. I finally settled on swimming a about a year ago even though I’ve been swimming since I was three and could fluently swim every stroke by the time I was five.
I takes a lot for me to attend every single hour and a half long practice five times a week with the crazy amount of homework I seem to receive, but somehow I seem to mange. I’ve progressed so much in my last year of competitive swimming and my coach currently is actually the high school swim teams coach, which makes me even more anxious to try out and I’m praying already that I make the team. I hope what I’ve been through will help me in the future to peruse my dream of being a successful business/company designer. Not everything is easy in life, but it’s very important to give it 100 percent always. This is something that I may not be great at, but I’ll always try harder and harder to achieve my goal of giving it all(24/7).

Spanish

I loved the idea of taking spanish because so many people in Texas speak it and I go to a lot of Spanish speaking places for vacation so it could possibly make going to places like that a little bit easier to communicate with people. At the beginning of the year Spanish class was really easy. As the year has progressed, it’s gotten a lot harder but I still like it somewhat because I sit by my friends. I have learned so much from it even thought I don’t have a 100 in it:(😪. I hope I’ll learn a lot more this year in Spanish class.

Laughing

I love to laugh and I love to be with people that make me laugh. I think everyone needs at least one person their life that makes them laugh, even in the worst of times. One reason I love my friends so much is because they make me crack up so much all of the time. Laughing in my opinion is the most important thing for people to do is just let go and laugh.

Football

I love to watch football every weekend with my dad. I also enjoy playing football with my brother occasionally(which usually ends up more as tackling each other). My favorite team is the Seattle Seahawks and I know their definitely not the best team in the NFL but I still love and support them. Right now they are 6-1 Seattle, that is so amazing it actually gives me a better reason to sit there and watch them more often. I’ve been to only one SEAHAWK game in my lifetime and in that specific game…let’s just say it wasn’t their best game but It was definitely cool to see them play!

Piano

When I play piano I feel like I can express they way I feel in a way that doesn’t include words. It feels so amazing to come home from a stressful day at school and just sit down and play a beautiful song. It feels almost as good as swimming does, which is really unique for me to think of something is almost as amazing as swimming. I love to read music and not to sound cocky or anything but I think I’m pretty good at it to. I believe that everyone can use a little music in their life wether it’s band, choir or orchestra or singing a Justin Timberlake song in the shower.
